Pavers or stamped concrete?
Short answer
Both work well when the base is built right. Pavers are separate pieces, so they flex with the ground and a damaged area can be lifted and relaid. Stamped concrete is one continuous slab with a pattern pressed in; it has a seamless look, but like all concrete it can crack, and it needs resealing from time to time. We install both and will tell you which fits your yard.
Look
Pavers show real joints and come in many shapes and color blends. Stamped concrete imitates stone, brick or slate in one smooth surface.
Cracking and repairs
Concrete is controlled with joints, but it can still crack as soil moves, and patched areas rarely match exactly. Pavers can be pulled up and reset in one spot, for example after a root or utility repair.
Upkeep
Stamped concrete is usually resealed every few years to protect the color. Pavers need the joint sand topped up now and then, and can be sealed if you want.
