Shrinkage is normal. Control joints are there to give it a place to crack in a straight, planned line instead of across the middle.

Can you match my existing concrete?

We can get close on finish and color, but new concrete always looks newer. On visible areas we often suggest replacing a full section.

Should I choose concrete or pavers?

Concrete usually costs less up front; pavers are easier to repair and handle movement better. We walk through both at the estimate.

Do you seal concrete?

Sealer is optional on standard gray and recommended on colored or stamped work to hold the color.

How the work goes

01Layout and grade checkWe set finished elevations so water runs away from the house and meets existing hardscape cleanly.
02Demolition and haul-offOld concrete is broken out and removed, and the subgrade is cut and compacted.
03Forms and reinforcementForms are set to grade and rebar or mesh is placed and supported off the subgrade.
04Pour and finishConcrete is placed, screeded and finished to the texture you chose.
05Joints and curingControl joints are cut at the right spacing and timing, and the slab is cured before it takes traffic.

Preparation, drainage and durability

Concrete moves. We control where it cracks with correctly spaced control joints and isolation joints at fixed edges, keep the slab thickness right for the load, and make sure the subgrade is compacted and draining before anything is poured.
