Standing Water in Your Yard? Winter Drainage Fixes in the East Bay
East Bay clay soil doesn't absorb water quickly, so winter rain sits on lawns, seeps under patios and collects against the house. We find where the water comes from, then give it a path out with French drains, catch basins, channel drains or regrading.
Owner Alfonso visits and prices every job himself. Based in Bay Point, serving Contra Costa and Alameda County.

Signs it needs attention
- Puddles that last days after a storm
- Soggy lawn or muddy side yard all winter
- Water collecting on or under a patio
- Runoff flowing toward the house or garage
How we fix it
- French drains for soggy lawns and side yards
- Catch basins and channel drains at low spots and patios
- Regrading so the ground slopes away from the house
- Sump pumps where there's no gravity outlet
Questions homeowners ask
- Why does water sit in my yard all winter?
- Usually it's clay soil, a low spot, or grade that slopes toward the house. Clay holds water, so it has to be carried away instead of left to soak in.
- Is a French drain the right fix?
- For soggy ground and subsurface water, often yes. For surface water on a patio, a channel drain or catch basin may be better. Alfonso checks the site and recommends what fits.
- How much does a French drain cost?
- It depends on length, depth, where the water can go, soil, and any concrete or landscaping in the way. We give a free written estimate after seeing the yard.
- Can you work while it's raining?
- We schedule around storms. Seeing where water collects during the rainy season actually helps us design the fix.
